Following the successes of several great art holidays with 'HF Holidays' another two exciting creative art holidays have been created for you for 2019 - one in Malhamdale, The Yorkshire Dales and one at Derwent Bank on the shores of Derwentwater in The Lake District. Both explore the immediate countryside by working directly out of doors in inspirational landscape settings. You will be staying in beautiful top class Country Houses in both locations, all with wonderful scenery to be inspired by with exciting outdoor painting days taking you to beautiful painting locations by minibus (weather permitting). Painting days in the studio on your first day on each holiday will help you to quickly get used to the media and art techniques you'll be doing outdoors for the rest of your week. At Derwent Bank the lake and fells from the conservatory and terrace, as well as many of our 32 bedrooms and 5 double bedded chalets are something to behold! Derwentwater is one of my favorite lakes in Cumbria. Wherever you are along the shoreline the views are never disappointing at at Derwent Bank they are spectacular! The delightful gardens and the lawn which slopes down to the lake jetty offer further splendid viewpoints to admire the magnificent setting that is Derwent Bank itself.
Painting directly outdoors during your exciting art week in wonderful scenic locations such as Grange in Borrodale valley valley - a pretty village with a lovely tumbling mountain river running past the small hamlet under the iconic tripple arched bridge - quite unique in Lakeland. We will also paint along the shoreline at Buttermere too later in the week and both outdoor painting experiences, together with your first day in the studio at Derwent bank will help you to quickly become more confident as artists in lots of positive ways.
Suitable for improvers and artists who wish to become more expressive with their art and also become more experienced with pastel techniques too.
