Making a Surface full of Pores

Pottery pots often have surfaces which are full of pores. We show you a professional trick how to paint them with acrylics in a very realistic way: First, you have to produce a watery colour mixing consisting of burnt umber and light ochre. The colour mixing has to be watery enough to start foaming after being dabbed on with a bristle brush.

Once the colourful foam has dried, only some ‚foam blisters‘ will remain, looking like little colourful dots. The result is going to seem like tiny pores.
