New English Youtube Tutorials Coming Soon!

Great news for our artistravel Youtube channel - Three days, three artists and three different techniques: It has just been a few weeks ago when we launched our first English speaking video on our artistravel Youtube channel and now there are many more to come! Bene & Carolin just returned from an amazing and productive weekend-trip to Hoylake near Liverpool where they collected a large amount of new footage in cooperation with three fantastic UK artists!

We had a lovely welcoming at the private artist studio of urban sketcher Ian Fennelly. It is a small, cozy and nicely furnished studio where artists can paint wonderfully. After our great welcoming, Jo Pickering, art teacher and oil painter from Teesside, gave us a brilliant introduction to oil painting and portraiture. Together with her kind-hearted artistic mum we had a lot of fun while filming new tutorial footage for our channel.

The second day was dedicated to art teacher and painter Mark Warner from Shropshire and his beautiful expressive landscapes in acrylics. As the studio was directly by the sea, we also went outside to the beach to take some stunning film snippets with him sketching the Wirral region. Although the wind made us feel a bit cold in the end, it was a brilliant day and we gained lots of new impressions and inspiration when it comes to landscape paintings, expressive brushstrokes and composition.

Our gentle host and great urban sketcher Ian Fennelly did not only show us how to produce some of his amazing urban sketches he also took us out for a ride in his car to show us the whole region of the Wirral in all its facades - including the visit of a nice, cozy and dog-friendly local pub. From what we experienced Ian was not only a fabulous urban sketcher and a lovely host but also a pretty good and entertaining tour guide! He told us lots of funny stories while flipping through his sketchbooks and gave us some wonderful insights in the feeling of directly being on site in the scene and doing some local sketches right outside at a lovely boatyard. It is a journey of looking: The more you look, the more you see and the more you understand - this is Ian’s motto.

Diving into the magic of art can make you forget everything that surrounds you, it returns so much and makes you feel so happy. The tutorial footage we collected with these three great artists will be an enormous enrichment to our artistravel youtube channel which has currently 36,000 subscribers and we nearly can’t wait to experience these lovely artists in some of our first English speaking painting and sketching holidays in 2020! We are now checking footage and our editors will do their best. Stay tuned! The clips will be amazing! You aren’t following us yet?
