Sea Adventures: Scottish Photography & Painting Cruises

Fabulous landscapes, marvellous sunsets, the sound of the waves clapping against the ship's bow and a mild and soft little sea breeze caressing your nose - a painting or photography cruise is far more than just a simple boat trip. It is an adventure, discovery, journey and relaxation and inspiration in one. Learn to capture picturesque views and your impressions in brilliant photos or unique sketches with one of our tutors on a customised photo or painting cruise!

Our partner 'St Hilda Sea Adventures' is specialized in wonderful cruises in Western Scotland. They anchor in the most sheltered, idyllic places, in some of Scotland's world famous islands such as Skye, St Kilda, Mull, Jura, Islay, Staffa and Iona where you can observe the wildlife, fish, swim in the sea lochs, visit famous malt whisky distilleries or just go ashore and explore.

So why not to combine a cruise with your painting or photography hobby? The Inner and Outer Hebrides of Western Scotland are beautiful! Famous for their rare wildlife (sea eagles, basking sharks, whales, dolphins and porpoises), spectacular mountains, island scenery and remote sea lochs, the Scottish island cruises by 'St Hilda Sea Adventures' are perfect for relaxing, sketching, painting and/or taking pictures with a knowledgeable skipper. You will be guided and will enjoy delicious meals with fresh, locally sourced products prepared by a dedicated chef.

Guests who wish to improve their photography or sketching/painting skills with a tutor can do so with St Hilda Sea Adventures aboard one of our small ships, Seahorse II or the ex-tall ship St Hilda. If you choose to private charter one of the small ships, 'St Hilda Sea Adventures' can, if you wish, customise your itinerary and stopovers. They are able to supply specialist tutors for both photography and painting. They can also organise walks and other activities ashore, kayaking and special anchorages that can guarantee that you will see the iconic puffins as they come ashore to breed.

Their two small cruise ships offer you a truly unique experience. People of all ages can learn about the sea but also find out a lot about nature and explore the local marine environment while enjoying the exhilaration of cruising the wonderful west coast of Scotland on their classic, ex-tall ship, St Hilda and our sturdy, mini cruise ship, Seahorse II.

The Scottish cruises by 'St Hilda Sea Adventures' will take you through a pristine environment, spectacularly rich in wildlife and breathtaking mountain and seascapes. A painting or photography cruise aboard St Hilda or Seahorse II is truly a voyage of discovery!
