Béziers

Béziers is a captivating city in southern France with a rich history. Enjoying a mild climate, the city's strategic location, just 14 km from the Mediterranean, creates a delightful blend of history and modernity.
With a mild to warm climate and an annual rainfall of around 650 mm, Béziers serves as a strategic transport hub.

The best views of the city, the Orb River with the Pont Vieux and the vineyards in the plain can be enjoyed from the Jardin des Êveques.

A beautiful example of Mediterranean Romanesque art is the Église Saint-Jacques, the former Augustinian Abbey. The bustling main street is the tree-lined Allées Paul-Riquet. During the Féria in August, celebrations last into the late night.

Nearby, the market halls of Béziers opened in 1891 in the Baltard style at Place Pierre Semard. Renovated in 1980, they remain a culinary treasure trove, featuring bull meat during the August Féria.
To the south, the grand avenue named after the builder of the Canal du Midi ends at the Plateau des Poètes. Created by the Bühler brothers as an English landscaped park, it boasts sculptures by Injalbert and over 70 botanical rarities.
