Lake District

Lake District, locally also known as „The Lakes“ or „Lakeland“, is the first National Park in the wohle UK, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its beautiful landscape is to a large extent characterized by the Cumbrian Mountains. All geografic highs above 300 feet (which corresponds to 914 m) in England are covered by the area of Lake District, which also contains England’s largest natural lake, called Windermere. And also it has a very special romantic spirit to it because of the numerous writings and poems by the „Lake Poets“, associated with Lake District.
