Cinque Terre

„Cinque Terre“ is Italian and means „Five Lands“. No surprise, it comprises five villages at the northern west-coast of Italy, or more precisely, at the coast of the Italian Riviera: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. It is a truly quaint and scenic place: Colorful houses, winding alleys with staircases and archways, no cars but little boats which rest along the waterfront, and time-honored terraces right up to the cliffs, which overlook the sea. Outside the small towns you will find many beautiful hiking tracks, leading through great and untouched nature. For good reason, Cinque Terre is supposed to be one of Italians most popular holiday destinations.
