Porto

Porto is Portugal’s second-largest city and also known under the name Oporto. It is located right next to the Atlantic Ocean but also invites you to stroll along the River Douro which runs right through it. The town is rich of colorful houses with bright red rooftops which stand in narrow alleys and owns a surprisingly high number of barocke churches. Of course, Porto is especially famous for its port wine but did you also know that the bookshop Lello e Irmão is said to have been a source of inspiration for J. K. Rowling?
