Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a city in the South of Germany (but North of Bavaria) that is popular for its medieval flair. The architecture you see while walking the pretty little paths will make you feel as you just time-travelled to the beautiful parts of the Middle Ages. The cobblestone streets, aligned with refurbished timbered houses keep adding to this atmosphere. Next to the picturesque scenery, art doesn’t come short either! There is, for instance, an elaborately designed, late Gothic altarpiece by the well-known woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider in the St. Jacob’s Cathedral (St. Jakobskirche). Everything seems as it was built to radiate medieval ambiance - the town hall, as well. It even allows you to have a view all over the city with its panoramic-view-tower. In case you’re wondering whether this is a good place to sketch, paint, take photographs or just soak up on creativity? Yes. Yes. Yes. And it certainly will give your artworks a unique “Rothenburg-ob-der-Tauber-touch”.
