Thy District

Thy is the name for the western part of the Danish island Vendsyssel-Thy, which forms the north of the Limfjordes the north of Denmark. The western part of Thy was named to Denmark's first national park by the Danish Ministry of Environment in 2007. The area is characterized by its vastness, open landscapes and untouched nature. The North Sea, the wind and the special light atmosphere make it seem like the horizon in Thy is endless - throughout the whole year. Thy is a land between sea and fjord, where the light has a very special power. Here you will find a wealth of impressions that attracts many guests from year to year. The untouched nature is something very special and offers something unique: fjord, sea and miles of sandy beaches, beautiful dune trees with marked trails.
