Photoworkshop Amsterdam

02.09.2020 - 05.09.2020 Amsterdam | Nicole Mosch excursion, life, people, photography, street, travel, urban 610 EUR

Slightly crooked, the narrow houses lean against each other, the classy, simple architecture of the old patrician houses and the enchanted charm of the canals with their Venetian smells and perspectives.Amsterdam, the city on the Amstel, is incredibly versatile: old and new, quiet and bustling, artistic and commercial, small-town and cosmopolitan. Capture the moments, the atmosphere of the city with your camera and develop your own style.

Nicole Mosch, lives and works in Amsterdam and shows you the known and lesser known corners of the city from her perspective. In addition to the technical aspects of photography, in this workshop we will deal with motif search and image design. Topics and tasks are put to implement and to deepen the learned. The picture discussions take place either at the hotel or in the IJ-Kantine Cafe. The course is aimed at amateur photographers, beginners and advanced with DSLR or system cameras. Basic knowledge with your own camera should be available

Monday

Meeting point for the first day is the NDSM shipyard. To get to know each other, we meet at 10.00 at the IJ-Kantine Cafe directly at the ferry dock NDSM and discuss the program of the next days. The NDSM shipyard, with its lively community of artists, is the perfect place to first explore Amsterdam with the camera. Ateliers and creative workshops located in the partially converted old shipyard halls show a completely different side of Amsterdam. Industry paired with art. Here we have the time, space and peace to explore the state of knowledge of each participant. Later we take the ferry back to Centraal Stationand head towards "Jordaan", a characteristic district in the canal ring with many small streets, bridges, shops and traditional cafes and pubs. We go on a discovery tour through the small Hofjes (green backyards) in the Jordaan district. There we end the evening with a dinner together.

Tuesday

Today we head to "De Pijp", a very lively part of Amsterdam. The heart of this district is the Albert Cuyp market, which has been fascinating for more than a century with its typical Amsterdam flair. We explore the district around the Hermitag Museum. The sunset mood is enjoyed today with the view over the water towards Centraal Station. Here we have optimal possibilities to photographically capture the hustle and bustle and the wonderful light on the river IJ.

Wednesday

Today we start with a boat tour over the canals towards "Rijksmuseum". We explore the small adjoining museum park and let the beautiful facade of the museum affect us. Then it's back to boat to get to know Amsterdam's waterside even better.

Thursday

Today we take a tour of the quiet western harbor island "Prinseneiland". These are characterized by historic warehouses, workshop sheds, rusty barges and picturesque wooden bridges and thus still convey the flair of an old industrial quarter. Before or after the final dinner we will capture the blue hour in the canals photo-graphically.

Program

Since we are dependent on the weather, program sequences can change and be adapted to the weather conditions. Looking forward to explore wonderful Amsterdam with you, no matter what the weather says. Bad weather Should it rain cats and dogs on one day, there is the opportunity to visit the two well-known photography museums "Foam" and / or "Huis Marselle" (entrance fees about 12,00 € / 8,00 € each).
