General information (this information applies to all of the holiday weeks)
Nothing beats a delicious, healthy meal in the great outdoors with good company.
The carefully prepared meals are included in the price.
From the introductory dinner on the day of arrival to the farewell breakfast on the last day.
At La Forêt Souriante you will stay in one of the two comfortable gîtes or in one of the two charming chambres d'hôte.
That makes a total of 4 double bedrooms. The double bedrooms each have their own private ensuites.
Guests who will stay in one of the gîtes will also have a living room.
We create that same homely feel in the Studio in the former stables, where everybody is welcome to enjoy.
In every bedroom you will find coffee or tea making facilities.
Sit, stroll, relax, hike in our 11 acres of woodland and enjoy. You will be amazed at the amount of wild life on our doorstep.
We have more than enough comfortable garden furniture for you to observe nature or to relax and read a good book.
We also have a wonderful view of the Castle of Najac, an inspiring scene!
The area around Najac is known as a very attractive hiking area.
Join us on a varied hike with wonderful views and don’t forget your bathing suits, there are some lovely spots to swim in the river or to kayak on the river.
Najac is one of the plus beaux villages of France, but not the only charming picturesque village near La Forêt Souriante. We are happy to share our favourite places with you!

Stay in gîte Albizia or gîte Lilas d'été:
With occupancy of 1 person: € 1150,-
With occupancy of 2 persons, both persons participate in the creative lessons: € 1750,-
With occupancy of 2 persons, 1 person participates in the creative lessons*: € 1600,-
Stay in La chambre Souriante or La chambre Lilas d'été :
When occupancy 1 person: € 1000,-
With occupancy of 2 persons, both persons participate in the creative lessons: € 1550,-
With occupancy of 2 persons, 1 person participates in the creative lessons*: € 1400,-
* A holiday week at La Forêt Souriante is also highly recommended for travel companions who do not participate in the lessons.
Of course you can enjoy the meals and the trips as a traveling guest.
According to the accompanying partners in 2022, nature and the environment are a source of inspiration for (amateur) photographers.
Our guests also enjoyed the bike rides in the area. You can bring your own bicycle and store it at La Forêt Souriante or rent an (electric) mountain bike in Najac.
The price includes:
– 7 nights stay in one of the attractive accommodations at La Forêt Souriante.
– 7 x breakfast, 5 x lunch and 7 x dinner, all vegetarian.
– Daily lessons, except on Wednesday + use of studio and materials.
– The basic painting and drawing materials, such as charcoal, acrylic and watercolour paint, pastel, paper are included.
If you want for example, working on canvas or with oil paint, then you must provide these materials yourself.
If you are unsure whether your material is included, please do not hesitate to contact us.
– During the Masterclass Macramé holiday, 400 metres of ecru OEKO TEX cotton (5mm) are included in the price.
Bamboo and sticks come from our garden and are free. For making other or larger works it is possible to buy extra cotton at Atelier Souriant.
Be aware that we have only a limited number of standard colours. If you have specific wishes for colours or cotton, please indicate this no later than 3 weeks before the workshop.

– coffee, various types of tea, milk and sugar in the room.
– good quality beds, which are already made for you upon arrival.
– the use of a large amount of 100% cotton towels. Please bring your own beach towel if you want to take a swim in the river.
– a beautiful garden with good garden furniture and a beautiful forest to walk in.
– free WIFI and a good 4G range.
– the costs for electricity.
– tourist tax.
– the final cleaning, would you please leave the room or gîte tidy, so that we can have enough time to ensure that all our guests will have the same clean and fresh holiday home to enjoy.
Not included in the price:
– Transport to and from La Forêt Souriante
– Travel and cancellation insurance
– Canoe rental, horseback riding or entrance fees during the extra activities
– Because all meals are included in the price, the cleaning of the kitchen is not included in the price when staying at one of the gîtes.
