You will spend an inspiring watercolor painting holiday in Usseaux, a medieval village positioned in the Italian Alps, known as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The course lasts 4 days from Saturday to Tuesday, with daily lessons for half a day, the other half of the day you will have time to participate in excursions, or continue painting in peace surrounded by the wonderful mountains of Usseaux.
The course
This watercolor course is dedicated to portraits with models from life .
Lessons will be totally teaching-focused with demonstrations provided at every stage, helping students to clearly learn each technique first-hand. A step-by-step guide will help you boost your confidence while still encouraging you to develop your own style. You will learn the secrets of physiognomy and expression in the portrait with the watercolor technique, the study of composition, tonal value and life drawing.
The transparency and freedom of watercolor allow you to express the emotions, atmosphere and sensations you will experience in Usseaux.
Excursions
Walk to Lake Laux , 30 minutes on foot (optional) to draw inside the Lake Laux structure. This lake is a pearl of Val Chisone with shades of colors due to the period and the light of the moment.
Trip by car to the Fenestrelle fort about 15 minutes.
Outside the Course
You can enjoy the SPA in the hotel
You will also have the opportunity to visit fantastic places in the area, such as Colle delle Finestre or the Assietta road which divides Val Chisone from Val Susa and from where you can observe both valleys.
You can simply paint inside or outside on the streets of the country
The hotel
The course will take place in the mountain hotel La Placette, a charming establishment where you can enjoy traditional cuisine from local products and hospitality. All rooms and property are in the traditional stone building with wonderful views where you will feel at home.

The village
Usseaux is an ancient village at 1400 m above sea level, known as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy located in the Alps. The village is full of murals to admire, created in the stone walls of the ancient houses. For more information:
