Painting holidays in Seville

02.05.2024 - 09.05.2024 Seville | Tessa Baker 3950 EUR

I am very excited about this painting workshop in the beautiful City of Seville in Spain. It is hard to make a plan, when there are so many amazing things to see and paint. A plan has to made, so for now, here is a rough plan. I will go to Seville earlyish next year and gather a lot more information then for you than I have now. Seville’s historic centre, overlooked by a colossal Gothic cathedral, is an beautiful mix of resplendent Mudéjar palaces, baroque churches and winding medieval lanes. Flamenco clubs keep the intimacy and intensity of this centuries-old tradition alive and great mansions recall the city’s past as a showcase Moorish capital and, later, a 16th-century metropolis rich on the back of New World trade.

« I have found a few fabulous Town Houses with gardens that we can literally walk to a lot of our painting sights from and where if we choose we can just go for a drink in a local bar or cafe, perfect for mid October weather»

Thursday:
Pick up at Seville train Station or airport and back to our villa, for a relaxing evening and splendid dinner.

Friday:
As we will be sketching and painting quite a few views and buildings, today is an ideal day to practice perspective and composition. In the evening we will go for a cruise on the River Gaudalquiver. All meals will be at our villa..

Saturday:
Today we will spend the day in Seville, after a guided tour we will be sketching in the morning at The Royal Palace of Seville – Real Alcázar de Sevilla Spain. Stopping for Tapas and then painting in the gardens of the Palace. Home for a rest and dinner..

Sunday:
In the morning we will paint from our sketches and notes. Have lunch at the villa and then visit The Torre del Oro, sketch and paint there. I think it would be great to go to a Flamenco show in the evening with dinner out.

Monday:
We will paint in the morning at the Villa have some lunch and then visit and sketch at the Jardines de Murillo and Hospital de los Venerables both of which are very beautiful.

Tuesday:
We will stay at home and paint during the day and then go Seville in the evening for and evening tour of the Triana district.

Wednesday:
In the morning we will visit Seville, (TBD) and then paint in the afternoon ready for our own private show of our work during the week,
champagne and cocktails and a lovely last dinner.

Thursday:
Off we all go!
