Anyone who has ever drawn or painted a model can agree: More important than a ‘beautiful’ model is a model who feels confident and who can give the painter interesting poses and maintain them without showing any effort. Our model offers a variety of inspiring poses. There is also variety in the materials you can use for your sketches and art work,
During this creative figure drawing and painting week we work with artistmodels, with often a yoga or dance background. They take poses in consultation with the experienced teacher and the group that can challenge you and make you feel confidence in your drawing or painting.
Enjoy also the attractive accommodations and the beautiful area of La Forêt Souriante.
Program
In the morning we work with a artist model for 2.5 hours, except on Wednesdays. The group is small (maximum 8 people), the teacher is experienced and the guidance is individual. This makes the creative holiday suitable for both artists and enthusiastic amateurs.
during the afternoons we offer 3 extra activities on La Forêt Souriante and the surrounding area: we visit nearby plus beaux villages, Abbaye de Beaulieu-en-Rouergue with an inspiring abstract art museum and beautiful places at the river. You can choose to paint or draw in these inspiring places or go for a hike, a swim in the river or stroll through one of the beautiful villages.
Atelier Souriant can be reached by train, car or plane. The nearest airport is Toulouse Aéropport. The nearest train station is Najac. If you wish, we will be happy to pick you up and take you to and from the trainstation in Najac.
The teacher speaks Dutch, English and French
General information
Nothing beats a delicious, healthy meal in the great outdoors with good company.
The carefully prepared meals are included in the price.
From the introductory dinner on the day of arrival to the farewell breakfast on the last day.
At La Forêt Souriante you will stay in one of the two comfortable gîtes, in one of the two
charming chambres d'hôte or in one of the two glamping tents, all with private bathrooms.
The large studio sits in the former stables, where we have the art classes and where in the
afternoon you can work in private if you like. In every bedroom you will find coffee or tea
making facilities.
Sit, stroll, relax, hike in our 11 acres of woodland and enjoy. You will be amazed at the
amount of wild life on our doorstep. We have more than enough comfortable garden
furniture for you to observe nature or to relax and read a good book.
We also have a wonderful view of the Castle of Najac, an inspiring scene!
The area around Najac is known as a very attractive hiking area.
Join us on a varied hike with wonderful views and don’t forget your bathing suits, there are
some lovely spots to swim in the river or to kayak on the river.
Najac is one of the plus beaux villages of France, but not the only charming picturesque
village near La Forêt Souriante. We are happy to share our favourite places with you!

With occupancy of 2 persons, both participating in the lessons: € 1850,- = € 925 per person.
With occupancy of 2 persons, 1 participates in the lessons: € 1650,- = € 925 for participating
person, € 725 for accompanying partner.
With occupancy of 1 person: € 1100,-.
Stay in chambre d’hôte Souriante or chambre d’hôte Lilas d’été :
Occupancy of 1 person: € 950,-.
Stay at La Dome Souriante or La Dome artistique.
The dome is an attractive glamping single tente with a floor area of no less than 20 m2.
The luxurious bathroom with shower and separate toilet is located in a separate building.
