Brigitte Guhle

I have been working as a portrait artist for many years - in other words I paint, sketch and photograph people. In the mid-1990s, I began offering painting and sketching courses specialising in portraiture. These were initially weekend workshops with an emphasis on nude and portrait sketching.. However, for a number of years I have also been organising creative holidays to Tuscany, Venice, Provence, Liguria and the Cinque Terre. During the summer, I also run painting courses in Masuria and Denmark.

Human beings are always in the foreground of my work - whether as students in my courses or themes on my canvas. After all, what could be more interesting than taking up the greatest challenge in art: decoding and recording the deep secrets of the human face?
