Terry Whittaker

Terry has been a freelance editorial photographer since 2000 following a career in zoos and wildlife conservation around the world. Specialising in the relationship between people and nature, commissions and personal projects include the Asian wildlife trade, endangered primates in Vietnam, urban nature and wildlife habitat restoration in the UK.
Terry has formed productive working relationships with various NGOs including: Free the Bears (Cambodia and Vietnam), Fauna and Flora International (Vietnam), RSPB, Whale and Dolphin Conservation, Wildwood Trust, Kent Wildlife Trust and many individual researchers and conservationists.

His images and stories are published worldwide in BBC Wildlife Magazine, Geographical Magazine, Time, National Geographic Kids, National Geographic Traveler, Ranger Rick and most UK national newspapers. Photos have also been used in a wide variety of media including: a postage stamp for Royal Mail, books, scientific journals, apps, wildlife trade information posters and Prodigy's best selling CD, Fat of the Land (leafcutter ants). He provided many of the photos for Wildcats of the World and was Photographer and Picture Researcher for The Wild Cat Book, by Mel and Fiona Sunquist, described by Panthera CEO Alan Rabinowitz as "A beautifully illustrated and eminently readable book".

He is a member of 2020VISION,the most ambitious nature photography project ever staged in the UK.
